ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. PIC of the Year: Thank you to the 2nd and 3rd year residents for filling out the annual PIC evaluations. Congratulations to Dr. Margrit Wiesendangerwho is this year's Ambulatory Medicine Teacher of the Year.

2. Take Note of Antibiotics on Limited Supply: There are drug shortages on IV foscarnet, IV clindamycin, IV amikacin, and most importantly, IV bactrim is completely unavailable. Oral bactrim is well-absorbed, and for many uses, the dose is the same for oral and intravenous administration. Check out http://infonet.nyp.org/Pharmacy/Drug_Shortage_List.pdf for information on all drug shortages. Page the ID consult with questions!.

3. Dr. Blinderman sent along his powerpoint on (opioids) and an article on (management of cancer pain). Please see them attached.
