Evidence-Based Medicine Manual 2011-2012
We are pleased to present the 2011-2012 Internal Medicine Evidence-Based Manual, a collection of seminal articles in internal medicine organized by housestaff rotation.
We would like to thank Dr Mark Snyder for leading the effort to re-envision the manual this year to the form seen here. We would also like to thank all of those residents who contributed to organizing this year's version of the EBM Manual.
Best,
Chief Residents, Department of Internal Medicine
Installation Guide
The manual is designed to run in a program called Evernote. This is a free note-taking program that will allow you to browse the manual, to view the original PDFs of articles cited in the manual, and to search the entire manual at once (including searching for words within the articles themselves).
To install the EBM Manual, you will need to install Evernote 1) on your iPad and 2) on your personal computer.
1)On your iPad
-Go to the App Store and search for "Evernote" or follow this link if you're reading this on your iPad: itunes.apple.com/us/app/evernote/
-Install the application using your iTunes Account (it's free)
2) On your personal computer
-Go to http://www.evernote.com/ and follow the Download Now prompts for your operating system to install it
3) Setup a free Evernote Account. Open Evernote on your PC. It will prompt you to setup a free account with your email and a password of your choosing. You must have an account to import and use the manual.
4) On your PC, download the Evidence-Based Manual 2011-2012 from our website at [EBM]
5) Open the EBM.zip file you just downloaded on your personal computer. It will open a folder with each section of the manual organized by rotation.
6) In Evernote on your PC, click File in the toolbar at the top and select: Import Notes from Archive. Navigate to the folder you just made in step 5) and select the notebooks you want to import.
-Please note there is a monthly limit on importing notes to Evernote with free accounts. It will reset next month but you might hit your limit if you import the whole thing at once.
7) Open Evernote on your iPad, log in with your newly created user account, and you'll see the same notes automatically sync from your PC to your iPad!
